Robert Kowalówka: Who doesn’t like breaking records?
Yesterday Robert Kowalówka had a great game against his former club, Unia Oświęcim! The third string goalie showed off his amazing skills, making a string of superb stops to deny the likes of Piotrowicz and Szewczyk.
After last nights game the coach may have a hard time choosing the second string goalkeeper. You didnt concede a single goal.
- A game against your first club makes you twice as motivated. I am extremely happy I managed to keep a clean sheet and stop my brother from scoring any goals (laughs).
When you were 2-0 ahead Unia took the initiative.
- Yes, we became quite nervous and we could have conceded a goal. I think that the key moment of the match was us staying strong when Unia received two power plays. We all fought fiercely to stop the rival from pulling one back.
You played against Unia, Michael Łuba against JKH. Both games showed us that we have two great reserve goalkeepers!
- I think we both did the best we could and gave one hundred percent. We played well, we werent guilty of making any mistakes that resulted in our team conceding a goal. We just tried to help Comarch Cracovia win six points.
You finish the regular season on 101 points. Did the possibility to break the barrier of 100 points motivate you even more?
- Its been at the back of our minds but it wasnt a priority. We are very happy about the record number of points - who doesnt like breaking records?
Well face Orlik Opole in the playoffs. Are you happy about that or would have Polonia Bytom been a better rival?
- It doesnt matter. Were aiming to win the Polish Hockey League and in order to do that we have to win with everyone. It is essential that we defeat Orlik in three games and have time to prepare well for the semi-finals.
