Summary of 2019. Part II (March - May)

March:

The beginning of March is an intensive training period before the upcoming semi-final. At the beginning of the month, we finally were informed who will be our rival - Tauron KH GKS Katowice. Hockey players from the Katowice "Satellita" needed seven matches to win the Unia Oświęcim and check in in the semi-final.

On March 8, we celebrated Women's Day, distributing flowers to ladies on the market in Krakow. The football team was represented by Marcin Budziński and Michal Siplak, while representatives of our hockey players were Karol Kisielewski and Paweł Zygmunt.

Three days later hearts of all Cracovia fans were only directed towards the Katowice "Satellita", where the premiere match took place. Good performances in the quarter-final aroused appetite, but also allowed real thinking about reaching the grand finale and regaining the championship title. After thirty minutes of the first match we could not be full of optimism, because the rivals were already leading 2:0, and the game could leave much to be desired. However, our hockey players managed to turn the game around and after the goals of Mateusz Bepierszcz, Marek Tvrdoń and Damian Kapica they won 3: 2, taking the lead.

Two days later, the rivalry moved to Krakow and our hockey players put another step on the way to the final, beating of Katowice 3:1 after goals from Emil Svec, Kamil Kalinowski and Sebastian Brynkus. What was noteworthy is the sixth consecutive victory in last year's playoffs, and Cracovia was than undefeated team.

- We played a good match, but despite of that two wins the team of rivals remains to be favorite. Both teams did not avoid mistakes and unused situations, but they also had good moments in the game. Our goalkeeper Miroslav Kopřiva , who played a very good meeting deserves praise - toned the moods coach Rudolf Roháček.

The next match brought the third win for the teams of future Polish runners-up, who won battle with the Katowice "GieKsa", 3:2 and continuing the sensational run. The victory meant that we were only one step away from promotion to the finals.

However, before the fourth skirmish occurred, together with the players Adrian Gajor and Mateusz Sordon, we visited the Krakow Main Square to remind fans of matches in the playoffs. Everyone could take an autograph and take a photo together, and the lucky ones received tickets from us.

The most difficult to put the proverbial "dot over and over". In the fourth game the team suffered its first defeat in the play-off phase and the players coordinated by canadian coach Tom Coolen won 3:2. There was still one win missing from the promotion, but also in the fifth game the rivals were on the top, this time applied five goals to Cracovia and finally won 5:3.

The sixth fight will definitely go down in the history of Polish hockey, because it took two extra times to decide, and Paweł Zygmunt's goal from the 92nd minute decided to win! In the end, Pasy won 2: 1 and checked into the grand finals, having at least silver medal. Appetites for the final triumph were strongly awakened, especially due to the fact our rival was GKS Tychy, with this team we haven't lost yet.

April:

In good moods we were waiting for the start of the final matches. Before we entered the sports competition, we once again met the fans, and this time the choice was Shopping Center "Czyżyny". The event was very popular and brought everyone a lot of joy.

First start of the PHL 2018/19 final did not go well for us. Losing after nearly 120 minutes of the match could not be optimistic, but the fight has just begun.

Meeting witnessed by fans in Krakow was hard and full of emotions and will for be sure remembered for a long time. The most important, is a 3:1 victory after goals by Marek Tvrdoń, Kasper Bryniczka and Mateusz Bepierszcz. Our fans also added their brick, by their doping for our players, they have created a great atmosphere in the stands of the hall at Siedleckiego 7.

Another match and another victory for our hockey players took the lead 2:1 in the final series. The players of Coach Rudolf Rohacek won 5:3 rivals from Tychy and found themselves in an excellent starting position before further competition. Unfortunately, the next three meetings ended with the results: 4: 0, 4: 2 and 2: 1 for GKS Tychy, and that team defended the championship title. We were left to sweeten the second place in the country and promotion to the Continental Cup competition. However, taking into account the entire season, it should be considered a great success, after all, it has never happened before that the team from the 5th place after the main phase will check in in the final.

Hockey season came to an end, and the players received a month break for rest and regeneration. However, the club's life went on and on Easter Saturday we have traditionally ordained food, and the President of Cracovia Janusz Filipiak has personally wished all the best for Easter.

Composition for the new season immediately began, and signatures under the new contracts were made by: Mateusz Bepierszcz, Kamil Kalinowski, Bartosz Dąbkowski, Bartłomiej Bychawski, Robert Kowalówka, and in the case of Adrian Gajor the clause automatically extending the contract for the next games was activated.

May

In May 14, athletes from Pasów returned to training, which took place at the "Saturn" Krakow fitness club.

- The final was a long time in my head, but we forget about what was and we are starting a new chapter - said coach Rohaćek in an interview with club television. The next players starting with captain Maciej Kruczek signed new contracts, thanks to which team is able to keep almost 80% of the composition from the previous season, what allows to look positiv forward to the upcoming matches. The club also received an invitation to participate in the 72nd edition of the Tatra Cup, which was to take place from 22 to 25 August in Slovak Poprad.

The first stage of preparation ended on May 31, and the players, in addition to training in the gym, also exercised at the club facilities at ul. Wielicka 101 and trained technique and making shots in the ice rink hall at Siedleckiego 7.
