January:

We started 2019 with the JKH GKS Jastrzębie match on our own ice rink, but it was not a good start. The team of future Polish runners-up had to recognize the superiority of the rivals who won 4:1. Finnish striker Jaakko Turtianen made his debut in the meeting, and on the same day he joined Comarch Cracovia with contract signed until the end of the season. However, the first victory in 2019 came two days later, when our hockey players won Węglokoks Kraj Polonia Bytom 6:0. What is more the next player who decided to continue his career in Comarch Cracovia was Kamil Kalinowski, obtained from GKS Tychy.

The second half of January is an intense time for everyone players and partners of our Club. The approaching end of the regular season and the closing of the transfer window caused a lot of changes in the team squad. The team from Siedleckiego street joined players such as goalkeeper Miroslav Kopriva or defenders Aleš Ježek, Miloslav Jáchym, Bartłomiej Bychawski and Pavel Charnaok, and Evgeni Kamieniew and Eryk Sztwiertnia left the team.

However the most important event was match played on 20th of January - 6th editon of Teddy Bear Toss - when our team faced GKS Tychy. Match resault wasn't good for us (1:6) but it went to the background, because event was a huge success: 2000 fans at hall and we gathered nearly 1000 of plushies which we later passed on to needy children.

Finally regular part of season of Polish Hockey League Comarch Cracovia ened at 5th position with 72 points, and our rivals in play-off quarter-finals was set in accordance with rules team from Jastrzębie.

February:

The beginning of February is an intensive preparation of hockey players for matches with JKH GKS Jastrzębie, but we could not forget about those in need.

At one of the trainings, we hosted pupils from the Special Schools No. 11 in Krakow, and Mr. Kamil received his reward for winning the auction for the WOŚP, who had auctioned participation in training with the team. He could see how professional hockey player life looks like.

At the end of February 15 the long-awaited first match in the playoffs came. Cracovia Comarch Team which was convicted to fail won 2:1 on away and became leaders in the competion.

- We had confirmation of that what was said a long time ago, it will be a very hard match, after all, it is just such a play-off. It was a tough meeting, which did not run out of provocation, but it is also part of hockey. We expected such a match, but it is important that in the second third we were able to reverse the fate of this duel. Both teams had a chance to score, but Miroslav Kopřiva showed good skills, he didn't save just one goal and presented himself from the good side. The most important thing is that we managed to keep the lead to the end and win for which I thank my team very much. We are leading 1:0, but the series has just begun and it is not really known when it will end - said coach Rudolf Roháček.

As it turned out, the next three matches brought three wins and our team was the first in the country to be able to check in the Polish Championship semi-finals. The team from Siedleckiego 7 won successively: 3: 1, 3: 0 and 8: 2, giving the fans a nice surprise.

The start of the semi-final was scheduled for March 11, and one team from Unia Oświęcim - Tauron KH GKS Katowice was to be the rival of Cracovia. We finished the last day of February with the traditional Cracovia Fan Day - commemorating the anniversary of the manifestation of Cracovia fans that took place on Basztowa street in 2001. It is widely believed that this event saved the existence of the Club and is one of the most important in the history of Cracovia.

That day, together with the football players Jakub Serafin and Milan Dimun and the hockey player Damian Szurowski, we left #NaPole to celebrate the last Thursday of carnival
Fat Thursday - in addition to this important day for our community. Our competitors treated passers-by with donuts and apples, reminding them about healthy eating. The players also asked about our special memory day, and those who were the first to give the correct answers received from us football and hockey shirts.

First two months of 2019 we can say that were sucressfull, but real were yet to come... To be continued.
