Adam Domogała: We outperformed Podhale in every respect

‘We are doing everything we can to be ready. That includes increasing training loads, says Comarch Cracovia player Adam Domogała ahead of the finals against GKS Tychy.

- Comarch Cracovia needed only four games to sail through to the semifinals. Were you surprised it was so easy?

- I think we deserved to win all four games. In every game we showed some great hockey and outperformed Podhale in every respect.

- Is it good you have to wait for the finals? Wouldnt you rather take on GKS Tychy right now?

- Its hard to say. The break might be useful for players who suffered some minor injuries during the semis. It will give them time to get better. On the other hand, last year we had seven semifinal games against Sanok and we were in the rhythm of playing every couple of days, which allowed us to perform well in the finals against GKS Tychy. We have found our match rhythm now, so I think Id rather start the finals now if I had a choice.

- Are the training sessions intense?

- Yes, they are. There are still a couple of days left before we kick off the finals, so were doing everything we can to be ready. That includes increasing training loads.

- You put your name on the scoresheet in semifinal game 4. Was it one of the most important goals in your career?

- Yes, it was very special to score in such an important game especially considering it let us win. I will cherish this moment for a long time, but we have to remember that I didnt get that goal on my own. It was a team effort.

- Youve been noticed by Poland national team coach Jacek Płachta. If you do well in the finals, you may get a chance to play in this years World Championship.

- Thats true. Now its time for me to prove my worth, however, in this very moment Im trying not to think ahead as I need to focus on the playoffs. It will be crucial that we give our best if we want to be Polish champions. Then it will be time to think about the national team. It would be an honour for me to play for Poland in the World Championship.
